Blue Ocean Projects Ltd operates a tensile testing facility in conjunction with Ocean Cable Technologies Ltd (OCTL).

The test rig can apply tensile loads of up to 15tonnes force to samples or objects of up to 5200mm long and up to 300mm in diameter. A through hole at one end of the test rig also enables loads to be applied against larger or irregular shaped objects.

Computerised tension logging is carried out using a calibrated load cell, and other instrumentation and surveillance equipment can be set up as required.

The test rig is fully enclosed for safety, and is located at OCTL's works in Portsmouth, UK.
